Hope’s Front Door is truly a community based organization. We leverage the many different talents of our current and prospective volunteers by differentiating the work opportunities. For those that wish to interact on a personal level with clients we offer the client interview, special assistance and client follow-up positions. For those wishing to help but not interact personally with clients we offer research, data entry, office administration, and special project and committee opportunities. Finally, for those wishing to be involved and with business skills to offer, we have a hands on board of directors who contribute not only conceptually but with vision, financial reporting, and fundraising talents.
Beyond individuals who assist clients in our office are a number of other people, businesses and community organizations that assist with programs or annual projects that help meet a community need. There are over 26 religious institutions working in partnership with Hope’s Front Door by directing the needy in the area to our program. In addition, they work with us to help educate the community by providing a forum as well as contributing financially. Many social organizations also provide avenues from which we can conduct public education. These organizations are invested in helping us raise our profile in the community through fundraising events and gathering such items as back to school supplies, coats and hats, shoes, bicycles, diapers, dental floss, mouthwash and toothpaste.
Area businesses are also an important part of the provision of service. They offer to give a type of assistance specific to their businesses. Our emergency dental and healthcare assistance to clients relies heavily on our partnerships with area businesses. Currently, area businesses partners oral health providers, pharmacies, optometrist (eye exams and eye glasses), banks (providing financial literacy counselors), and bike repair shops.
